Every stage mixed under 102 dB(A), every station stocked with earplugs
The loudest decision at Chromawave is the ceiling we put on our own volume.
The ceiling
Every stage is mixed under 102 dB(A) measured at the front-of-house rail, checked continuously by the audio crews. That is loud enough to feel everything and quiet enough that your Sunday is not spent in a fog. It is also roughly ten points kinder than festival average, which is a sentence we're proud to write.
Earplugs, free, everywhere
Every water station stocks free foam and silicone earplugs in three colors, because the best earplug is the one you actually have. Plugs bring a 102 dB(A) mix down to conversation-adjacent levels without flattening it.
Why we're proud of this
A festival that protects the hearing of 18,000 people a night is doing its job. A festival that pretends louder is better is selling you a bill you pay decades later. We'd rather be remembered for the sets than for the ringing.
